EN RECONOCIMIENTO A LA GESTIÓN DE LA DOCTORA ALICIA BÁRCENA IBARRA
La Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (CELAC) expresa su más sincero reconocimiento a la Dra. Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, por el excelente servicio que ha prestado a nuestra región, desde el inicio de su gestión en 2008 como Secretaria Ejecutiva de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas.
Alicia Bárcena ha sido un importante referente del servicio civil internacional y una digna representante latinoamericana, quien con su labor ha contribuido a proporcionar la perspectiva regional en los distintos espacios del sistema de Naciones Unidas, donde se ha desempeñado desde 2003.
Reconocemos y agradecemos el destacado trabajo que ha realizado en colaboración con este mecanismo, lo que se ha traducido en un ejemplo de cooperación regional, marcando hitos para la prosperidad de América Latina y el Caribe. Su solidaridad, persistencia y constancia la han convertido en una gran aliada de esta Comunidad.
La CELAC le desea el mayor de los éxitos en sus nuevas encomienda y proyectos.

IN RECOGNITION OF THE MANAGEMENT OF PhD. ALICIA BÁRCENA IBARRA
The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) expresses its most sincere appreciation to PhD. Alicia Bárcena Ibarra, for the excellent service that she has rendered to our region, since the beginning of her tenure in 2008 as the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Alicia Bárcena has been an important reference in the international civil service and a remarkable Latin American representative, whose work has contributed to providing a regional perspective in the different areas of the United Nations system, where she has served since 2003.
We recognize and thank her for the outstanding work she has undertaken in collaboration with this mechanism, which has been transformed into an exemplary forum of regional cooperation, setting milestones for the prosperity of Latin America and the Caribbean. Her solidarity, persistence and perseverance have made her a great ally of this Community.
The CELAC wishes her every success in her new commitments and projects.
