COMUNICADO ESPECIAL

SOBRE LA OFICINA INTEGRADA DE LAS NACIONES UNIDAS EN HAITÍ

 

La Comunidad de Estados Latinoamericanos y Caribeños (CELAC), recordando la Declaración de la Ciudad de México adoptada por conducto de su Presidencia Pro Témpore en  ocasión de la VI Cumbre de Jefas y Jefes de Estado y de Gobierno, en la que se reiteró el apoyo, solidaridad y cooperación con Haití con miras a su recuperación, estabilidad y desarrollo en un ambiente de paz, expresa su respaldo a la labor realizada por la Oficina Integrada de las Naciones Unidas en Haití (BINUH) y exhorta a que se fortalezca su mandato con el fin de facilitar el diálogo sociopolítico en dicho país y promover su desarrollo sostenible.

El apoyo de las Naciones Unidas y toda la comunidad internacional a favor de Haití representa un pilar en los esfuerzos para cumplir con las aspiraciones de su pueblo.

ON THE UNITED NATIONS INTEGRATED OFFICE IN HAITI

 

The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), recalling the Declaration of Mexico City adopted through its Pro Tempore Presidency on the occasion of the VI Summit of Heads of State and Government, which reiterated its support, solidarity and cooperation with Haiti for its recovery, stability and development in an environment of peace, expresses its support for the work carried out by the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) and urges that its mandate be strengthened in order to facilitate socio-political dialogue in that country promoting  its sustainable development. 

The support of the United Nations and the entire international community in favor of Haiti represents a pillar in the efforts to fulfill the aspirations of its people.
